In days of carrying out of next session ICWC on 8-10 March, 2007 in Turkmenistan, Ashkhabat the next meeting of working groups on discussion of a regional water-economic policy has taken place within the framework of technical assistance ADB “Perfection of water resources management in the Central Asia”. Representatives of National Working Groups (NWG) have taken part in its work and members of Regional Working Group (RWG) (exception of Union Control Center "Energy").

Participants of session members ICWC Ryabcev A.D., Khamidov M., Khamraev Sh. R and welcomed Minister of a water management of Turkmenistan Akmammedov M., Acting Chairman of the Executive committee of IFAS Rakhimov S.N. Acted have noted about importance of the works spent with assistance ADB, and necessities of continuation of cooperation within the framework of the specified project with the purpose of search of mutually acceptable decisions on water resources management of region.

Participants of a meeting have discussed results of performance of works under the given project for 2006 and the program of works for 2007. During discussion of the given question under the offer of participants changes and additions on some items of the program of works are brought. Participants have agreed with opinion on necessity of successful end of the basic outputs of the plan of works to 2007 to continue works under regional programs with assistance ADB.

With the purpose of the further realization of works by participants of a meeting subgroups on priority directions of the plan of works from representatives of five countries are created.

The draft agreement “About use water and power resources of a river basin Sir-Darya” is discussed under remarks NWG of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. For the coordination of the draft agreement the meeting of NWG members of four countries in the first decade of April, 2007 in Tashkent will be organized.

Under the draft agreement on use water and power resources of a river basin of Amu Darya the decision to continue     work is accepted.
