The regular 4th session of the Steering Committee of the Regional Center of the Hydrology has taken place on February 12, 2008 in Tashkent. The authorized representatives of the Steering Committee members have taken part at the session (SC) the Regional Center of the Hydrology (RCH) representing the Executive Committee of IFAS and National Hydrometeorological Services (NHMS) of Central Asia.

The participants have heard and discussed the Report of the Chief Executive of RCH Mr. Safarov M. T on RCH activity (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) for 2007 and an Action Plan of branches RCH for 2008.  

At the SC of RCH Session are considered issues:

• on confirmation Mr B.O. Baimagambetov’s appointment, Deputy Director General of RHE «Kazgidromet» as Director of RCH of the Republic of Kazakhstan by recommendation of Director General RHE «Kazgidromet» Mr. Zejnullin T.M;

• on participation of RCH at the Dushanbe International Conference on Water related Disasters Reduction to be held on June 27-28, 2008. in Dushanbe and assistance in preparation and organization of panel session on the Aral Sea Basin problems within the framework of the given Conference;

• on side publication project on climate change and its affect on water resources of the Central Asia, for its inclusion in attachment to the prepared World Water Development Report (WWDR) to the 5th World Water Forum;

•  on venue and agenda of the next 5th Session of the Steering Committee of RCH.

Following the results of discussion of the agenda of the 4th session of SC RCH are made decisions of the Steering Committee of the Regional Center of the Hydrology.
