
Executive Committee IFAS aims to develop regular and close cooperation with International community in order to achieve support in the implementation of its activities. From May 2009 EC IFAS is working with the organizations of the UN system and other International organizations, Financial Institutes, foreign Governmental and Non-governmental organizations.

Strategic partnership with Central Asia has high importance for Germany. In June 2007, the new partnership strategy between the European Union and Central Asia was initiated by the Government of Germany. A wide range of projects in the field of education, sustainable economic development, legal and juridical reforms, environmental and economic change is aimed to support the development of Central Asia through Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

The Donor Coordination Conference for the Third Aral Sea Basin Program- 3 (ASBP-3) took place in Almaty on December 9th.
After discussions of the proposed ASBP-3 a Donors’ Statement was unanimously adopted expressing the full support of the Program and the readiness of donors to work together with IFAS and the Governments of IFAS member states in its implementation.

On October 12th the European Parliament held High Level Public Hearing on the Aral Sea problems with the participation of representatives of the international political and economic organizations, experts and analysts.

On July 29, 2010 Chairman of the Executive Committee Sagit Ibatullin addressed the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.

On July 20 in Ashgabat under the auspices of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) the high-level meeting “Dialogue on Water Resources issues: Implementing decisions of the Summit of IFAS and the outcome of the visit of UN Secretary General to the countries of Central Asia" was conducted.

On May 26 Berlin hosted an international forum "The Aral Sea: from the lake to the desert - the life with an environmental catastrophe", organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in cooperation with German Union for Environmental Protection (NABU).
