First regional workshop on the development of Scenarios for Central Asia under the Project “Mutually Acceptable Mechanism on Integrated Use of Water Resources in Central Asia through Applying a Scenario Approach” will be held on 2-4 May in Ankara, Turkey.
The project is executed by FAO/SEC in close collaboration with the Executive Committee of the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea (EC IFAS) and funded under the FAO-Turkey partnership Programme.

EC IFAS started implementation of project activities under priority development directions:

• Capacity building and improving decision making system for water management: improvement of hydrometeorological services and informational water management systems

• Capacity building within the process of  IWRM development: dam and hydraulic structures safety

• Analysis of water resources use and related implications for the development of mutually acceptable mechanism for integrated management of water resources and environmental protection
